Biography

Born and raised in Nantes, alongside the mighty Loire, delicious Muscadet, and famous LU biscuits, Kevin Tronel has always been intrigued by woodworking. Love and life brought him to Paris, and then Scotland, where he acquired skills in business management, design, and marketing. During a chance visit to a local auction house, Kevin spotted some iconic teak sideboards, and his passion for Mid-Century Modern was born.

Founding L’Atelier 20, Kevin used his self-taught skills to carefully restore hundreds of sideboards, chairs, and dressers. That experience taught him how masters like Robin Day, Finn Juhl, and Hans Wegner approached furniture design. After honing his craft at The Chippendale International School of Furniture, Kevin established Wedge Designs, where he brings a contemporary twist to the Mid-Century style that he admires so much.
