Morgan Furniture Student Award 2008

Open to all furniture students in Scotland. Win £750 and free membership of SFMA. In memory of Alan Morgan, a former graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and a cabinet maker.
The Scottish Furniture Makers Association and Scottish Forestry Commission have joined forces to reward the most outstanding piece of furniture made by a student in Scotland during academic year 2007-2008 with the Morgan Furniture Award
The winning piece and runner up will be shown at SFMA Edinburgh Exhibition in October.
The prize:
£750. will be awarded for the most outstanding piece of furniture at the opening of the SFMA Edinburgh 2008 exhibition.
The winner and runner up will receive one year free student membership of SFMA.
Judging:
Initially a shortlist will be compiled. These applicants may be contacted prior to the winners being selected. The judges will be looking for originality of design, appropriateness of design, and craftsmanship of highest quality.
The judges will be members of SFMA exhibition committee.
