The familiar patterns of tartan and tweed, seen through the woodworkers eye take on the subtle, natural timber variations of colour, grain and figure, adding constant changes to the uniform design.
Constructed from sawn slices, the wood ?swatch? is sanded to allow harder woods to stand proud, producing a textured surface fingers can appreciate.
The Scottish wood inlay is used as button, square or border details on original furniture designs.
Incorporated into the jointing, these marquetry touches signal origin, add character and a contemporary twist on traditional techniques.
