Steven Patterson designs and makes furniture based on traditional values of quality, constructed not only to please the eye, but to withstand the rigours of use in everyday life.
Designs range from "Early Oak Furniture" influences to the contemporary, with clean simple lines, making the most of nature's beauty, and yet retaining traditional solid construction methods utilizing mortice & tennon and dovetail joints. Furniture is crafted from solid hardwood timber, predominently home grown. Each piece is finished with oils and waxes to enhance both the look and tactile nature of the grain.
Examples of furniture ranging from seats to tables, chests to dressers, and mirrors to display shelving are displayed at exhibitions and available to purchase, but for someone who wants something specific, made to their requirements, commissions are undertaken.
