T C Timberworks was set up by Tom Cooper in 2004 after having graduated from Edinburgh Art College in 2001 with a BA Honours degree in furniture design.
Tom specialises in the design and hand crafting of both traditional and contemporary furniture, fitted and free-standing.
A range of projects are undertaken, from tables and chairs to fitted wardrobes and complete solid timber kitchens, as well as small gift items such as jewellery boxes and turned bowls.
A variety of timbers are used to suit every taste, however Tom prefers to use native timbers such as Elm, Oak and Yew.
His designs have a graceful, organic element to them, contrasted with geometric lines, and subtle features in the form of contrasting timbers and exposed joint details.
Tom himself states.. " Many of my designs are inspired by the elegant and flowing lines found in natural froms, reflecting the natural beauty of the hardwoods that i use in my furniture."
